Simple two-story wooden house called "Stevens' House" set behind fence in Minnehaha Park

"Stevens' House. Occupied by Co. John H. Stevens, Aug 6, 1850. Moved to this park May 28, 1896." Referring to Minnehaha Park near present-day Minneapolis Post Office. Stevens received permission to occupy the site, part of Fort Snelling Military Reservation, in exchange for providing ferry services at nearby Saint Anthony Falls.
