Purse-seiner Jokol/Birdie B plys the waters as men guide the net into the water
Back caption: "Bridie B. = Jokol. Movie 'Ice Palace'. Edna Thurber." The boat pictured is the Ketchican, Alaska, seiner "Jokol" with a nameplate saying "Bridie B." The Bridie B. was a boat named for Bridie Ballentine, a character in the Edna Ferber novel "The Ice Palace." This is probably a scene from the 1960 movie adaptation of that book.
