Three miners with lighted helmets pose next to coal extraction equipment in mine
This photo is nearly identical to GB1904 which has the back caption: "Men working in the Birchwood Coal Mine." The mines under the Birchwood and Columbia neighborhoods of Bellingham, WA, operated from 1918 until 1955. According to "Looking Back" (auth. Dorothy Koert, Galen Biery), the photo was taken in 1924.
