Portrait of Jacob Beck
Back caption: "Jacob Beck; Beck's Grandview Hotel; Beck's Theater." Beck was an early resident of New Whatcom (later Bellingham), WA. Beck's Grand View Hotel & Saloon, built in 1889, was at the corner of Holly and Dock St. Beck's Majestic Theater, built in 1902, located at 1310-1316 Dock St., was the most adequately staged playhouse west of Chicago, seating 2200. Beck lived at the hotel and later at 610 Magnolia Street.
