Photocopy of photograph of large group of men, women, children posing on and in front of enormous, felled 21' diameter cedar tree and stump, with hand-written captions identifying several people
Caption on the top of the photocopy: "Burlington, WA. July 4, 1894 - Ancestor Tree - W.F. Robertson Photo." Caption on bottom of photocopy with lines drawn to the individuals identified: "Maternal Grandfather, Robert De Lancy - cut down the cedar - 21 ft. in diameter; Paternal Great Grandmother, Sarah Garl Koch holding my Father, Purley Hamilton; Paternal Grandfather and Grandmother, James and Rose Hamilton." Attached to the photocopy of the photograph is a photocopy of a clipping, found in an old Bible, from the Burlington, WA, newspaper from April 1910, entitled "Golden Wedding Anniversary," referring to the anniversary of David and Sarah Garl Koch, the great grandparents of Jane Hamilton Hovde who wrote the captions on the copy of the photograph. The Koches were married April 1, 1860, and were Burlington pioneers. Also on this sheet additional commentary from Jane Hovde to Galen Biery.
