Steamer tug "Ella" on Lake Whatcom with well-dressed man sitting in bow facing camera
The Ella towed barges filled with coal from the Blue Canyon Mine to Silver Beach on Lake Whatcom, WA. She was named for Ella Downs; M.E. Downs was superintendent of the Blue Canyon Mine. The Ella later became the Prentice named for Prentice Bloedel.
