Launching of the Catherine D., the Pacific American Fisheries (PAF) ship named for Catherine Deming,
Catherine Deming was PAF president E.B. Deming's granddaughter. Caption on front in ink: "So. Bellingham, WN.- 2-25-18" and "Steen's" The steamship was built at the PAF shipyard at Deadman's/Commercial Point. Men stand in groups on the decks and several stand on a ramp angled down from the deck as well as on the ground below. The Catherine D was the flagship of the PAF fleet used for shipping supplies and crews to Alaska; in WWII it she went into service for the US NAvy in Alaska. Caption on reverse in ink: "From Tom Morgan"
