Largest pipe line ever built of wood - The Northwestern Electric Company has just completed a pipe line on the White Salmon River, Washington, which is one mile in length, 13 feet 6 inches inside diameter and built entirelyof wood staves. This tube carries sufficient water to generate a 16,000 horse-power electric current. Not only is the conduit itself made of wood but it is supported entirely on timber cradles.
