- Date
- 1889-04-06
- Description
- [continued from GB1380.1] "…readings, Tableax &c and the two sides take turns at entertaining each other. At the end of the quarter the side that has furnished the best entertainment during the past quarter is invited to an oyster supper gotten up at the expense of the other party. My side is getting badly beaten & I guess will have to furnish the supper. Well if you write soon, write to Roseburg. I will write soon as I get to Portland and tell you where to address me. Had a letter not long ago from my step-mother. She is in Washington & has been very sick. Well I must close. So good by. Very truly yours, James Pickett."
