- Andrew Ecklund was superintendent of the Blue Canyon mine. Hie is listed as 'miner,' 'mining engineer,' 'mechanic,' and 'civil engineer' in the Bellingham, WA, Polk's directories from 1905 until 1942. He died in 1943, at age 74, Christine died one year later.

- The Baker Hotel, a multi-gabled, five-story wood-built hotel in Sehome (later Bellingham), WA

- According to "Looking Back," p. 100, this is the Grand Central Hotel that was located at Forest and Holly Streets. Built in 1890, in 1892 it became the first St. Luke's Hospital, and when the hospital moved, it became The Baker Hotel. The first two floors appear to be public with lodging rooms above. The Baker was demolished in 1926 to build a garage.

Captain Henry Roeder began operating the sandstone quarry in 1857. It lasted until 1908. Among the buildings built in Bellingham from the quarry's sandstone were/are the Bellingham Bay National Bank, the Roth Apartments, the second Whatcom County Courthouse, the Armory.

- A 1940s automobile parked in front. Galen Biery was born (1910) in and lived in this house before moving to 13th Street in the 1940's. This predates Fairhaven (formerly Valley) Parkway so there are several houses shown that are no longer extant. The brick building across Wilson from the craftsman house still exists as does the house beyond it on Wilson. The immediate foreground is a field which today is park of Creekside Condos.
