On verso of image: FALL 1971 Target--Brickwork is progressing over the steel frame of Western Washington State College's new eight-story student apartment building under construction on the southern perimeter of the campus. The $3,850,000 structure will house 400 male and female single students at the college next fall. In a departure from more traditional dormitory housing, the '71 Housing will have individual living and cooking quarters with two to four students sharing apartment units. Public Information Office.
Information included with image: Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Buchanan stand beside a family coat of arms which was recently installed in Buchanan Towers residence hall at the southern end of the campus.
