(Box) Biographical Note A librarian and scholar, Michael Lorenzen was born February 13, 1970 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy (Bowling Green State University, 1992), a Master of Library Science degree (Kent State University, 1993), a Master of Education degree (Ohio University, 1996), an Education Specialist degree (Michigan State University, 2002), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Central Michigan University, 2009). Before becoming Dean of University Libraries at Western Illinois University in 2013, he was the Associate Dean for Public Services at Western Washington University (2010-2013), and Head of Reference Services at Central Michigan University (2003-2010). Prior to CMU, he was the Library Instruction Coordinator at Michigan State University (1996-2003) and a Reference Librarian at Ohio University-Zanesville (1994-1996). Scope and Content Note The collection consists of books, off-prints and photocopies of articles, presented papers, and other published contributions in the field of library science. Notes on Arrangement The books in the Michael Lorenzen Collection are shelved under "Lorenzen, M." in The Western Collection stacks area, sub-arranged by title. Additional copies of individual book titles may also be available in the Libraries' circulating collection; search the library catalog by author or title for more information. Other material in the collection are organized into sequentially numbered folders housed in one box. Items are ordered chronologically within each folder by date of publication, sub-arranged alphabetically by item title when items share a common publication date.
