M. Those present were Dr. W. D. Kirkpatrick, Chairman; Mr. Verne Branigin, Secretary; Mr. Steve Saunders, President C. H. Fisher, Mr. Carl F. Gould, representing Debb and Goula, Architects; and Mr. J. C. Stanley, representing the Public Works Administration. BIDS RECEIVED FOR FINISH HARDWARE The following bids were received for the finish hardware for the physical education building: Schwabacher Hardware Company, Seattle $ 2,379.66 Morse Hardware Company, Bellingham 2,382.00 Contractors Hardware Company, Seattle 2,493.00 Northwest Hardware Company, Bellingham 2,612.00 Builders Hardware and Supply Company, Seattle 2,682.00 Upon motion by Mr. Branigin, seconded by Mr. Saunders, it was agreed that the bids of the two lowest bidders be referred to Bebb and Gould, Architects, for investigation and report. Those present were Dr. W. D. Kirkpatrick, Chairman; Mr. Verne Branigin, Secretary; Mr. Steve Saunders, and President C. H. Fisher. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. BALANCE FOE CONTINGENCIES FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION BUILDIUG Three thousand ($ 3000.00) dollars was allowed in the general contract for the finish hardware. Up to date the following amount has been contracted for: $ 210,891.78; which includes the $ 3000.00 for the finish hardware. If the lowest bid for the finish hardware is accepted, the amount contracted for will be $ 210,271.44. The total amount available is $ 211,692.13. This leaves a balance to date for contingencies of $ 1,420.69. ELECTION OF FACULTY FOR 1936-1937 All menbers of the faculty whose names appear in the list for 1935-1936 were reelected with the following exceptions: Lucy Kancley, English, returns from a leave of absence of one year. Louis M. Myers, English, who was employed only for the year 1935-1936 to substitute for Miss Kangley. Nell Bryant, Assistant to the School Nurse, to be considered at a later meeting. Eleanor Osborn, Fifth Grace, Training School; reelection depends upon condition of health. Hazel Plympton, Art; granted leave of absence for 1936-1937. REPORT FROM THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS COLLEGE According to a report received from Charles L. Hunt, Secretary of the American Associations of Teachers Colleges, the State Normal School at Bellingham is on the accredited list with one deficiency in Standard IV, Preparation of Faculty. Our standing among accredited Teacher Training institutions with respect to student-teacher ratio is in the middle 50%. Our standing with respect to expenditures for library books is in the upper 25%. SPECIFICATIONS FOR NEW ROOF ON MAIN BUILDING The President was asked to prepare specifications for a new shingle roof on the main building, the same to be submitted at the next meeting. It was reported that $ 12,500 was appropriated for this purpose. REPRESENTATIVES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AT COMMENCEMENT ACTIVITIES It was agreed that Mr. Branigin should represent the Board at the annual Alumni banquet on Saturday evening June 6th at the Leopold hotel. It was also agreed that Mr. Saunders should represent the board at the Commencement Exercises on Thursday June 11th at 10 A. M.
