Mr. Heckman and Mr. Hall absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. Bond was elected Trustee of the Property at the Lake to be purchased by the Student's Association. It was moved and seconded that Mr. Carver be allowed sixty-dollars ($60.00) as expense money to bring the Vancouver ex-Normal basketball team here. Carried. The following bills were allowed: M. Messenger Two Issues $106.00 g Montague and McHugh Santa Claus suit and mask 4.25 a. Terrier Magnusson Jerseys , letters 9.53 g. The Cane (A. M. Sheppard) candy canes 12.50 g. E. T. Mathes Book Co. Xmas ornaments. 1.00 a. g. Normal Book Store Supplies 2.35 g. Edna Anstett Ornaments 1.50 Adjournments Mrs. Edna Anstett. Sec'y 1922-01-09 - Board of Control Meeting Meeting called to order by President. All present. Minutes read and approved. A financial statement for the year 1921-1922 was received from C. C. Baughman, manager of the Book Store. Page 01_130 (volume 01 page 130) 1922-01-09 - It was read and accepted. Mr. Baughman also requested that he be allowed to hire an auditor to audit his books since they have not been audited since 1920. It was moved, seconded and carried that this request be allowed. The motion was made and carried that the Board of Control express in writing, its appreciation for the excellency of the report of the finances of the Book Store, made by Mr. Baughman. The motion was made, and carried that Mr. Carver be allowed $75.00 for the expense of bringing C. P. S. to Bellingham. Mason Hall rendered his resignation as a member of the Board of Control. It was not accepted. Adjournment. Mrs. Edna Anstett 1922-01-16 - Board of control Meeting Meeting called to order by president. Mr. Bond tardy. Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. Mr. Bristol submitted a financial statement of the messenger from December 2 to Jan. 13. Read and accepted. Motion was made and carried to allow Mr. Bristol forty dollars ($40.00) for salary and one dollar ($1.00) for car tickets. Motion was made and carried to pay Mr. Bristol twenty dollars ($20.00) at the end of this month (January) and from that date to pay him his salary at the end of each month. Motion made and carried to allow Mr. Carver the required amount to bring the Cheney Basketball team to Bellingham next Saturday. Mr. Hall again presented his resignation as a member of the Board. It was voted to accept it with regrets. The motion was made and carried to extend Mr. Hall a vote of thanks for his services while on the board. The motion was made and carried to postpone the appointment of a new Board member until the next regular meeting. Adjournment Mrs. Edna Anstett 1922-01-23 - Board of Control Meeting Meeting called to order by President. All present. Minutes read and approved. The following students were nominated for Board members; Dwight Cone, Ruell Knowlton, Robert Caulkins, Maurice Dunn, Richard Perringer. The result of the votes cast was: Knowlton, (first place) Dunn and Perringer (2nd place, tie) Cone (3rd place) and Caulkins (last.) Ruell Knowlton was therefore, formally elected a member of the Board of Page 01_131 (volume 01 page 131) 1922-01-23 - Control. The motion was made and carried to allow Mr. Carver $140.00 to bring the Ellensburg basketball team to Bellingham. Mr. Carver submitted a statement of the C. P. S. game which was read and accepted. The following bills were allowed: Pacific Steam Laundry Suits washed 14.40 Home Store Towels 23.00 It was moved and seconded that the Board of Control purchase new curtains for the Association Room. Carried. The following committee was appointed to attend to this matter: Cook, Collier, and Anstett. The motion was made that the Student Body be informed that the Association Room (#218) is for the use of the Members of the Board of Control; the Editor and Business Manager of the Messenger, and by courtesy of the Board, to the Klipsun Editor and Business Manager and only at such times as when directly connected with their business; that all other students be requested to refrain from the use of this room. All persons having key to the Student's Association Room, report the fact to the President of the Student Body at once. Seconded. Carried. Adjournment, Mrs. Edna Anstett 1922-01-30 - Board of Control Meeting Meeting called to order by the President. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Mr. Knowlton, new Board member was present. Committee on Curtains reported prices of different materials. Discussions. Matter of purchasing, postponed until Mr. Bond can be present. Mr. Haeske read a report of the financial status of the Athletic Fund. Discussed and accepted. Reports of the Normal-Cheney , Normal-Whatcom and the two Normal-Ellensburg games were submitted by Mr. Carver. Read and accepted. Adjournment Mrs. Edna Anstett. Sec'y 1922-01-30 - Meeting called to order. Motion was made and carried to allow Mr. Carver one hundred dollars ($100.00) for trip expenses.
