Unidentified men, with chicks

Seven unidentified men, four standing behind a desk and three sitting next to and in front of the desk. All wear suits or jackets and ties except one who wears a sweater and no tie. On the desk is a box divided into quarters and labelled "Co-op Chicks" In the box are several dozen chicks. On the wall behind the men is a calendar from The Bellingham National Bank featuring Northwest Washington. The year is 1940 but the month is not legible. There is a photograph on the side wall of a little girl and boy in a wagon. The Whatcom County Farm Bureau had its original office in the Bellingham National Bank building but it is unclear if these men had a connection to the Farm Bureau. More likely they were part of the Washington Cooperative Chick Association or the Washington Cooperative Egg and Poultry Association which began in the 1920's and was located on Central Avenue in Bellingham. Stamped on reverse: "Sandison - Photos That Please - Portrait and Commercial Photography - Bellingham, Wash."
