Formal studio portrait of man with goatee, Victor Charroin
Back caption: "" Victor Charroin, born 1821, France. My (Mary Dreyfoos) great grandfather in Wisconsin - married Almira Johnson, sister of Mary Ann Johnson Larrabee. His father was in Napoleon's Grande Armee and was on the march to Moscow (?). Victor came to US in 1834, settled near Ferndale, Wash. (Mt. View) around 1856." Accompanying letter from Mary Bourque confirms information on photo and adds that Victor Charroin's wife's sister was her grandmother, Mrs. William Larrabee (Mary Ann). Victor and Almira's children were Victor, Theodosia (Mrs. Coleman Hoskins), Eva (Mrs. Edward Luce), Mrs. Berghoffer, Olive, Ida, Leon, Frank and possibly others."
