Walking in Broken Pixels
This is a creative project containing short stories of varying length, that speak to current situations involving human relationships mediated by modern tools for communication. In my thesis, I am seeking to depict how, despite the increasing ease in communication and visibility, there can still be a pervading feeling of confusion. In these fictional pieces, the fluctuation in length is used as a way to imitate distraction brought on by tools intended to help communication. This distraction is used as a way to bring readers into the content of the stories, understand the confused and distracted characters, that are often struggling with how to engage their worlds of intense visibility. They yearn to find ways to reconcile this intense exposure with feelings of isolation brought on by close connections from their devices.
