John V. Hilburn and unidentified men
Back caption: "At right: John V. Hilburn. Office of Puget Sound Power and Light. Given to Galen Apr. 29, 1985." Four men, two seated and two standing, are performing clerical work in an open room. Note: spitoon on floor behind man at left; system of electric lights adapted onto gas pipes and hanging low over the desks. The man on the right is Jacob V. Hilburn. He worked for Whatcom Railway and Light Company, a precursor of Puget Power, from 1903 until 1918. He was Chief Accountant from 1910 to 1917. In 1919 he was the accountant for Graham Drug Company; in 1934 he was with the Owl Pharmacy Co. He died in 1946. His sons, Preston and Leland, also clerked for Puget Power.
