Lafayett Rogan Jones, on the left, is standing in a lecture hall with a young woman and man. (Lafayett) Rogan Jones, an Aberdeen businessman, owned the building that housed Aberdeen's KXRO. He acquired the station when it went broke in 1928. Jones turned KXRO into a moneymaker. His search for other broadcasting opportunities led him to Bellingham and Kessler's defunct KVOS (Kessler's Voice of Seattle, now KGMI). Jones became a successful and influential radio owner, helping to define the way radio does business even today.
