Gwanghwamun - South Korea
This photo was taken on the first week of my one-year adventure in Seoul, South Korea. I wasn't sure what to expect of this huge mega city, but it just kept getting better. This photo is taken at the main gate of the palace called "Gyeongbok-gung" located nearby to Seoul's city hall. What astounded me about this palace is that from the inside, one can see the giant skyscrapers powering Korea's economy in the background. The mixture of contemporary and ancient architecture was truly astounding. The past of Korea's culture was contained in this small area of palace, while it's modern day culture was shown behind it. In this shot, I am capturing a bit of the former.
