1972 Library: View from the West
Negatives available #720416. Shows the then-new 83,000 square foot addition to Wilson Library completed in 1972. The all-new exterior was designed by Fred Bassetti & Company, Architects of Seattle, featuring a clay-tile roof and brick walls matching the original 1928 library building designed by Bebb and Gould, Architects. The colonnade along three sides of the structure complemented the design of other academic buildings on campus.The addition built by Cawdrey and Vemo Construction Company of Seattle at a cost of 3 million dollars, more than doubling the size of the existing library.
