Trish Co. $215.00 Moved and seconded that the Board go on record as favoring the change of athletic emblems from "B" to "W." Carried (5-0) Moved and seconded that following men be allowed letters for 1916 football. Carried. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Those present were Mr. Van Horn, Carleton, Hulse, and Miss Jackson and Miss Buchanan. The following report for November (ending Dec. 8, 1916) was made by Mr. Baughman. Ac'cts receivable: $139.51 Cash in bank: $156.64 " " on Hand: $223.53 Total: $519.68 $1783.98 Balance: $2303.66 Debits Ac'cts Payable: $2303.66 The following bills were allowed: Ger. Fund Normal Bk. Store- (Stamps, ink, etc) $2.25 Book Store Fund: Bills Totaling $456.25 Some of the bills were passed on the condition that they received Mr. Baughman's O.K. Bill for Kinney Co. was held up until Book Store Committee should see Mr. Baughman in regard to putting in suck stock without consulting Board of Committee because it totals over $50.00. Moved and seconded that Mr. Baughman's bill for business trip to Seattle be accepted. Carried. C.C. Baughman- $5.20 (Seattle Trip) R.R. Scarseth $50.00 Gen. Fund: Griggs Printing Co. Directory $85.00 Mr. Scarseth, as Business M'gr. "Messenger" made his report and other plans for distribution of "Messenger" by mail were discussed. Moved and seconded that matter be matter taken up with Messenger Committee. Page 01_012 (volume 01 page 012) 1916-11-20 - Carried. Moved and seconded that Mr. Scarseth's report be accepted. Carried. Discussion as its procuring and basketballs for Miss Nicherson and 2 for Mr. Carver. Suggested that Athletic Committee see Miss Nicherson about use of balls-whether or not for classwork. Moved and seconded that balls be for- provided that committee understands that they are to be used only for athletic purposes. Carried. Reliable Transfer Co. - $6.70 Richmond Paper Co- Mdse- $240.32 Clyde Bauks-photos - $12.30 Discussion as its whether or not Elwood Davis be recognized for injuries received in football game requiring him to pay $5.00 for somebody to take his place in janitor work. Decided to leave question open. Discussion as to advisability of paying Mr. Baughman's fare to Seattle to confer with business houses. Question still open for discussion. Discussion as to whether or not football boys be allowed to buy or raise money for sweaters. Decided inadvisable. Discussion as to who should take Mr. Kirkman's place as editor-in-chief of "Messenger." Decided "Messenger" committee take up matter with Miss Edens. Adjournment. (Sec'y) Louise E. Buchanan. ##

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The "Messenger" committee presented a contract with he printer for approval. Moved and Seconded that the contract be accepted. Carried. The President referred the matter of singing the contract to the Messenger committee. \Moved and seconded that Dr. Deerwester be put upon the complimentary mailing list. Carried. Moved and seconded that Dr. Deerwester. Carried and manager be allowed five copies a piece of the "Messenger" and that each member of the Board receive two copies a piece. Carried. Moved and seconded that the Faculty pay same price as students ($0.75) per year and that outsiders be charged $1.00 per year. Carried. Moved and seconded. Carried that President be authorized to investigate the conditions and methods of last year's publications of the Directory and if necessary put the proposition up to the students. Sec'y 1916-10-09 - Board of Control Meeting The meeting was called to order by the President. Those present were Mr. Hulse, Mr. Van Horn, Mr. Carleton, Miss Jackson, Miss Buchanan. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. Hennes was present to put before the Board the proposition of getting out a booklet containing school song and yells for use at contests. It was moved and seconded that the President appoint and Athletic Committee. Carried. Those appointed were Miss Jackson, Mr. Bond and Mr. Carleton. appointed were Miss Jackson, Mr. Bond and Mr Carleton. Irish- $2.00 Messenger Fund- Melvielle Campbell - $5.15 Page 01_010 (volume 01 page 010) 1916-10-30 - Discussion of Lecture Course tickets and there disposal after the withdrawal of a student from school. Moved and seconded that President confer with Dr. Nash about refunding money for Lecture Course ticket to a student withdrawing from school. Carried. Matter of receiving song books on hand in Book Store brot(sp?) up. Moved + seconded that store committee take up matter of song books with Mr Baughman and that he be advised to sell them at 3 or 5 cents until all sold. Carried. Miss Jackson reported for Book Story Committee the transfer of a check protector from the registrar's office to the Book Store. It was reported by the President that the Directory is in the hands of Griggs Printing Co. President took up the matter of new suits for the baseball team- $8.00 a piece. Mr. Carson and Mr. Van Horn ordered the suits- 12 in number- on the expectation that the Board would be favorable in view of the fact that an early order was necessary in order to get them at a more reasonable price. It was moved and seconded that the action of the President be approved. Carried. A special meeting for the Board was called by the Pres. Primarily for the purpose of making plans for the student mixer to be held Sept. 9th and also to discuss the "Messenger" proposition for the coming year that Mr. Van Horn might present our policy etc. to the Faculty at the Faculty Meeting. Those present were Mr. Hulse, Mr. Van Horn, Miss Jackson, Miss Bressler, and Miss Buchanan. Mr. Hulse stated that the Faculty feels that is the time for a weekly paper and that they desire to have more knowledge of and control over the "Messenger." A discussion was held as to whether or not Mr. Scarseth's flaw of collecting 75 cents from students the last semester would work and he approved. Mr. Strilse suggested that $1.00 for the year might be sufficient instead of the proposed $1.50. Mr. Van Horn read Mr. Scarseth's written statement of his- (Mr. Scarseth's) plan as Mg'r.-Editor of the "Messenger." This was done for the benefit of those Board Members not present during Summer School. It was decided that Mr. Van Horn read the said statement to the Faculty. Plans for the Mixer were then in order. Motion made that Chair appoint chairmen of committee: Seconded and carried. Chairmen appointed were: Miss Jackson-refreshments; Miss Bressler-programs; Mr. Carleton-stunts; Miss Buchanan-labels. Decided on meeting of Board on Thurs. It was moved and recorded that Sec'ry be allowed new book. Carried. President authorized to make purchase of exchange rack and make arrangements for its placing in the Library. Bills were allowed as follow: Gen Fund. Ma(SP?)Arts Press , Normal $1.40 Muller and Asplund 1.00 Athletic Fund A.G. Spalding and Bros. 9.57 Motion for adjournment. Carried. Louise E. Buchanan Secy. Page 01_002 (volume 01 page 002) 1916-09-06 - Meeting called to order by Pres. Those present were: Mr. Hulse, Mr. Van Horn, Miss Jackson, Miss Bressler and Miss Buckanan. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Moved that since no rules for filling vacancies are in Constitution- Faculty representative be elected in special student assembly. Motion seconded and carried. Mr. Hulse gave report on the faculty's action in regard to "Messenger." It was moved and seconded that a call for editor be made by Pres. In student assembly. Carried. Motion for adjournment. Carried. Louise E. Buchanan. Secy. 1916-09-07 - President called Special Student Assembly for purpose of electing a member of the faculty in Dr. Veerivester's place. Mr Bond and Mr Bever were nominated and Mr Bond was elected receiving 571 votes to Mr Bever's 169. The Pres. Announced the "Mixer" for Gov. night and made a call for applications for positions of Editor of "Messenger." Motion for adjournment carried. Those present were Mr Bond, Mr Hulse, Mr Carleton, Mr Van Horn, Miss bressler, Miss Jackson, Miss Buchanan. Mr. Hulse asked for statement as to finances of Association. It was suggested that we- as a Board- formulate our own places, write our contract, submit it to Faculty and these fit in the applicants. *The applications of Mrs. Kirkman, Mr. Busswell, Miss Nielsen, Miss Petersen, Miss Jewell and Mrs. Shepard were read and discussed. *(The following applicants for editorship were called in for private conference: Mrs. Esther Shepherd, Howard Busswelll, Clara Nielson, Ella C Petersen, Louise Jewell, Mrs Kirkman. Mr Scarseth was elected as manager accd. Election of editor was left till later.) The following bills were allowed: General Fund Anna M Petersen stamps $0.64 Page 01_003 (volume 01 page 003) 1916-09-11 - S.P. Secretary. 1916-09-12 - The meeting was called to order by the Pres. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Those present: Mr. Bond, Mr. Carleton, Mr. Van Horn, Miss Jackson, Miss Bressler, Miss Buchanan. It was moved and seconded that the Faculty be allowed ticket for Lecture Course and games without change. Carried. Discussion as to "Messenger" proposition still held. It was suggested that a date be made with applications that they might come before the Board. Also suggested that call be made for more applications. Suggested that let names stand as before (i.e. editor- in-chief and manager) and in contact clearly distinguish between duties of each. Motion for adjournment. Carried; Louise E. Buchanan. Sec'y. 1916-09-13 - The meeting was called to order by the Pres. And the minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. Those present: Mr. Hulse, Mr. Proud, Mr. Van Horn, Mr. Carleton, Miss Jackson, Miss Bressler, Miss Buchanan. The following bill was allowed: Gen. Fund: Griggs Stationary and Printing Co. , City. - $3.25 The following applicants for editorship were called in for private conference: Mrs. Kirkman, Miss Jewell, Mrs. Shepard, Miss Nielson, Miss Petersen, Miss Davis and Mr Bussell. After the conferences were completed the applicants were discussed. It was moved and seconded that the Board accept the application of Mrs. Ira Kirkman as editor-in-chief. Carried. It was moved and seconded that the application of Mr. Scarseth for manager- subject to contract. Carried. Adjournment. Page 01_004 (volume 01 page 004) 1916-09-13 - Louise E. Buchanan. Sec'y ~~~~1916-09-14 - The meeting was called to order by the Pres. Reading of the minutes proposed til further date. Those present were Mr. Hulse, Miss Jackson and Miss Bressler. The secretary-p (SP?), read last year's Messenger contract. The "Messenger" was discussed with Mrs. Kirkman and Mr. Scarseth. Moved and seconded that "Messenger committee for the appointed. Carried. Mr. Bond, Mr. Carleton and Miss Buchanan appointed by chair. Moved and carried that Store Committee be appointed . Carried. Mr. Hulse. Miss Bressler, and Miss Jackson appointed by Chair. Discussion was held as to the advisability of severing office connection with Book Store Phone. Moved and seconded that Book Store Committee see to aforesaid plan. It was suggested to the "Messenger" committee that all new downtown should have a chance to bid for the publishing of the "Messenger" Motion for adjournment. Carried. Louise E. Buchanan. Sec'y 1916-09-15 - Meeting called to order by the President. All of Board present. The contract for Business Manager of the "Messenger for year 1916- 17 was presented by the "Messenger" Committee and read and duly signed by the authorized persons. Adjournment. Louise E. Buchanan. Sec'y 1916-09-18 - Meeting called to order by President and minutes of last meeting read and approved. Those present were Miss Bressler, Miss Jackson, Miss Buchanan. A report of the financial standing of the Students' Association was read as follows: Student Assoc. Funds up to Sept. 18, 1916. Mess. Fund $29.02; Gen. Fund 1882.21 and Page 01_005 (volume 01 page 005) 1916-09-18 - Athletic Fund $7.88. Mr. Baughman's Bond was presented and it was decided to let it lay over till a future date. Decided that it was not necessary to put the Editor under rules but rather that the subject of rules for Manager and Editor be referred to "Messenger" committee. Messenger @ $1.00---$10.00 presented. Discussion of bill followed. Moved and seconded that bill be held over until settlement of Messenger conditions. Carried. Stated that matters have not yet been cleared up in regard to Mr. Scarseth's accounts. Discussion as to someone to take place of Mr. Folsom as Business Mgr. "Messenger" during his illness. Mr Carleton volunteered to fill in temporarily if able to arrange it. Page 01_020 (volume 01 page 020) 1917-02-05 - Mr. Van Horn reported that he had on hand $70.00 surplus to be turned into Athletic Fund- paid surpluses having been drawn to assure expenses for games. Mr. Baughman presented the following report of Book Store Conditions: Accts. Payable- $156.24 Cash on hand- $102.14 Total- $258.38 Diff.- $1038.90 Debits- $1297.28 Accts. The following applicants presented themselves before the Board and were duly interviewed. Mr. Roop, Mr. Hughes, and Mr. Folsom. Mr. Folsom was appointed business manager. Mr. Folsolm was present to make inquires into some of the methods of Business Mgr. and collecting etc. Mr. Van Horn stated that he had conversed with Dr. Nash and Mr. Edison in regard to some method of having bills signed and paid without delay. He reported them as being in favor of some system by which to eliminate so much countersigning. Mr. Van Horn presented a method of Direct Banking which was discussed. Quorum present. The following bills were voted upon and allowed: Woolworth $3.83 Royal Dairy Products Co. 17.25 Union Pr. and Stationary Co. 38.00 The Book Store report was handed in and accepted. Discussion of Christmas party for Dec. 20, was taken up. Board in favor of purchasing 10 cent presents by each one, for exchange, also that each club to take part in the program, choosing their own part. Moved that the president appoint a committee of three, he acting as chairman to superintend the Christmas program. The committee: Mr. Kobell Chr. Miss Hawley. Miss Hampson. Adjournment. Sec'y. Harriet Hampson. 1918-12-19 - Board of Control Meeting. A short meeting called by President. Discussion on Mixer, completed. Motion carried that manager of Klipsun sell the copper and they keep 25% of the profits for their work, with the understanding that any scenes or groups that would be of future use to the school be kept. Motion carried that Mr. Carver be given $40 for Vancouver game. This will be returned. Receipts from Ellensburg game $7.50 received at door. This will be turned into the Assoc. Page 01_051 (volume 01 page 051) 1918-01-17 - Pres. brot up matter of hooks of hooks disappearing from the Assembly Hall. Motion carried that it was a Student Council affair but that the Board will act as advise. Miss McGhee was chosen as the new Book Keeper. Business Manager's salary for the month of Aug. Action taken that the Business Manager's salary be the same as preceding month's which was $40. It was moved that the Business Manager be allowed to continue his work through the first quarter. If the deficit is not materially reduced during that time with prospects of clearing it up by X-mas, the Business Manager will be asked to resign. The Business Manager will be informed to that affect. Mr. Baughman borrowed $2000 in $1000 notes. The first for 60 days and second for 30 days. Myers. 1920-07-20 - Board of Control Meeting The meeting was called to order by the president. The roll was called all present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. It was suggested by Mr. Bond that the president in giving his report of the Mt. Baker trip include the price of the tickets and the number of students who went. Since it is not the business of the Board of Control to look after the affairs of the Messenger it was suggested to leave those matters with the Editor and Business Manager and if it is necessary to reduce the Messenger for several copies. It is then the duty of the Business Manager to present the matter before the Board. It was suggested by Mr. Bond Page 01_088 (volume 01 page 088) 1920-07-20 - that Mr. Boucher (the business manager of the Messenger) present the final conditions of the Messenger to the Board at the next regular meeting. Mr. Yorkston absent. Election of officers on the Board of Control as follows: Miss Baker, Secretary; Miss Ingalls, treasurer for the Messenger; Mr. Yorkston, athletic treasurer. Discussion of possibility of school picnic. Moved that the president appoint a committee of one to see Dr. Nash and the President of the Senior class to determine whether or not the Seniors would be willing to combine in a picnic with the entire school. Amendment suggested that we would not wish to interfere with or upset the plans of the Senior class. Motion as above carried. Consideration of the suggestion left by the old board that the allotment of that position of the student activity fee which is for athletics be raised to 75 cents, and the Messenger allotment be lowered to 40 cents. Statement of cost of publication of messenger made by Mr. Selby in writing as follows: Estimate cost of publication per week. Printing $60.00 Salary 12.00 Postage and incidentals 3.00 Total $75.00 Est. no. of issues 44 Total cost for year $3300.00 Estimate attendance for school year of 1920-21 2400 students. Following bill allowed for eats on Marathon: M.J. O'Connor $9.95. Motion carried that in light of the fact that the Messenger is in debt and that Mr. Selby wishes to clear the Messenger of this debt, Mr. Selby be allowed to continue in this position for the summer term. Motion made and carried that any action as to the lowering of the salary of the manager of the Messenger be deferred until next meeting in order that we may all give the matter thorough consideration. Motion carried that the board bring to the faculty the request that the faculty set aside a day in the spring of each year for the school picnic, that day to come on a school day. Mr. Yorkston absent. Mr. Kolstad late. Report on school picnic by Miss Bond. Moved and carried that Mr. Kolstad be instructed to see Dr. Nash about time of learning and returning of boot Monday, and report before assembly tomorrow. Moved and carried that the matter of the salary of the business manager of the Messenger be laid on the table until the next meeting. Time of meeting changed from 12:30 Tuesday to 3:00 Friday. Moved and carried that the manager's salary be changed to $40 and that he be given a concession of 25% on all ads above $175. Moved and carried that the president confer with Mrs. Mayhew as to the person recommended for editor of the Messenger and that the suggestion be made to her that she recommend just as many as she feels are capable, ranking them in the order of their capabilities. Moved and carried that the basketball girls be given their letters this year. Following bills allowed: S.P. There was $283.83 left over from the summer term. The nominations for junior and senior members of the student council were o.k.'d by the board. The meeting adjourned Bernice A. The letter from the Irish Printing Co., concerning the statement that they were on the unfair list was read by the president to the board. Mr. Sutherlen, of the same co., gave a report concerning this matter. Moved, seconded and carried that a special meeting be called on the following day to make further decision as to the printing of the Messenger for the following year. Adjournment. Bernice A Day Acting sec't. 1920-09-17 - Board of Control Meeting. Meeting called to order by the president. Miss Ingalls absent. Mr. Bowsher presented the card from Mr. Southerlen showing that the Irish Printing Co. is not on the unfair list of the Labor Council. Moved, seconded and carried that four copies of the Messenger be published each month. Mr. Hansen was allowed the editorship of the Messenger until a permanent editor is secured. Moved, seconded an carried that if the card presented by Mr. Southerlen be o.k. and signed by Mr. Jessup, and that by awarding the control for printing the Messenger to the Irish Printing Co., the Bellingham Normal is not involved in complications with Union Labor, that the printing of the Messenger be given to the Irish Printing Co. The meeting was called to order by the president. The minutes of the last two meetings were read and approved. It was decided that the date of the marathon will be changed to April 30th. It was moved, seconded, and carried that Mr. Baughman be offered a one (1) year contract at two hundred dollars ($200) per month. Mr. Oslager made a report from the general and athletics funds for January, February and March. Adjournment Mrs. Edna Anstett Sec'y. 1921-04-12 - Board of Control Meeting. The meeting was called to order by the president. Miss Ingalls, Mr. Bond and Mr. Loring were tardy. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Moved that Mr. Baughman be offered a contract for two years (2) at two hundred dollars per month ($200). Seconded and approved. During the course of the meeting a committee consisting of Ethel Sutherland, Paul Young, Marion Collier, petitioned that the annual marathon be hold April 16th as previously planned rather than the Saturday following, April 23rd, as announced in Assembly today. Mr. Hickman read aloud the contract by and between the Board of Control of the Normal Students' Association and C. C. Baughman. A discussion of the articles followed. It was moved and seconded that this contract be signed by the President and the Secretary of the Board. Carried. A bill of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) as allowed Richard Newton for transportation. Adjournment Mrs. Edna Anstett Sec'y 1921-04-26 - Board of Control Meeting. The meeting was called to order by the president. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Mr. Bond and Mr. Loring absent; Mr. Erickson tardy. Miss Cook and Miss Collier members elect were present. Miss Bond informed present board members that this was the last meeting of the year before new members take office and warned us that we would be held responsible for speeches in Assembly, Monday. It was moved, seconded, and carried that Mr. Kolstad reeive the sanction of the Boar dof Control, as a Faculty advisor, to fill the vacancy caused by Mr. Heckman's absence during the fall quarter. A motion was made, seconded and carried that Mr. Baughman be allowed to borrow $1000.00 (two thirty day notes at $500.00 each bearing 8% interest) as per request. It was decided to announce in Assembly Wednesday, August 3rd, that applications for the Business Manager of the Messenger for the Fall Term, would be received. Adjournment Mrs. Edna Anstett. Sec'y Page 01_115 (volume 01 page 115) Page 01_115 (volume 01 page 115) 1921-08-16 - "Special Insert" The regular meeting of the Board of Control was held at Restabit Camp- Camp Perfection. Two-day evening August 16th. Miss Collier presided as hostess at a bounteous chicken-watermellon dinner. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Heckman, Miss Elair Minor, Miss Collier, Mr. Inge, Mrs. Anstett, Mr. Bond and Mr. Frasier. After dinner the business of the Board was taken up- following adjournment we all went down to the beach to toast marshmallows and sing songs until time to go home. 1921-08-16 - Board of Control Meeting. The meeting was called to order by the President. Roll call- Mr. Huske absent. The Messenger report on its finances was submitted and read. The total indebtedness now existing is 423-. Mr Baughman submitted a statement on the finances of the Normal Book Store. Motion was made and carried that these two statements be accepted. Motion was made and carried that the Editor of the Messenger be allowed to edit an eight page edition for the last number providing it be printed and delivered on Thursday afternoon or before nine o'clock Friday morning. Otherwise no edition shall be published this week. Moved and seconded that Herbert Hansen (Business manager of the Messenger) be allowed thirty dollars ($30.00) for his salary for the month of August, provided he called all bills and lose up all the business of the summer. Carried. It has been decided that a special business meeting will be called for the Thursday room. Aug 18th and that Mr. Carver be requested to be present. A letter from the Business Manager of the Messenger (Herbert Hansen) stating his reasons for requesting forty dollars ($40.00) for his salary for the month of august was received and read. Discussion Page 01_116 (volume 01 page 116) 1921-08-18 - Motion was made and carried that we reconsider the motion made August 16th in regard to Herbert Hansen's salary, and allow him forty dollars ($40.00). A report on the finances of the general fund of the Student's Association was submitted by the Secretary. Discussion thereof. Corrections and revisions for the B. Book for 1921-1922 have been received from Dr. Nash, Dean Woodard and Miss Wilson. Plans for its publication were discussed. It was moved and seconded that the apportionment for 1921-22 be made fifty-fifty. Fifty carried. (Mr. Carver was not present to discuss this matter). It has been recommended that financial reports, from all departments in the school, related to the Student's Association, be submitted to the Board of Control each month. Adjournment. It was decided to organize a drive for Page 01_128 (volume 01 page 128) 1921-12-05 - the Student Friendship Fund to be held next Friday, Dec. 9th. Mr. Kolstad was present to tell of the proposition of having the County Road to the Lake Whatcom Tract improved. He suggested that the Board of Control and the Board of Supervisors of the Geneva Township go to the Road Commissioners to urge this matter. (Mr. Austin , Feb. 1504) Adjournment Mrs. Edna Anstett , Sec'y 1921-12-12 - Board of Control Meeting Meeting called to order by the President. Miss Collier, absent and Mr. Hall, tardy. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Miss Brannick was appointed Editor of the Messenger for the Winter Quarter , upon recommendation of Miss Edens. The motion was made and carried that Mr. Haeske interview Dr. Nash in view of obtaining Tuesday evening December 20th as the date for the Christmas Tree Exercises. Miss Cook was appointed chairman of the Program Committee and was instructed to plan with Mr. Rahskapf and Mrs. Thatcher for the program. Mrs. Anstett was appointed chairman of the Decorating Committee. Mr. Heckman was appointed Chairman of the Tree Committee. Mr. Hall was instructed to purchase enough candy canes to distribute among the students, Dec. 20th. Mr. Bristol submitted a statement of the financial status of the Messenger of November. It was accepted. The motion was made and carried that Mr. Bristol be allowed $40.00 for his salary for November: and $1.00 for cartickets. The following bills were allowed: Paul Rairdon head gear $2.50 Ralph Miller " 2.50 Piper and Taft Athletic Supplies 13.63 Adjournment Mrs. Edna Anstett- Sec'y 1921-12-19 - Board of Control Meeting Meeting called to order by the President. Mr. Bond tardy. Minutes of the previous meeting read and Page 01_129 (volume 01 page 129) 1921-12-19 - approved. The several Christmas Committees submitted reports of the work accomplished. The following bills were allowed: S. E. Carver $10.00 Woolworth's Xmas tree decorations .85 Piper and Taft Basket-ball shoes 31.06 It was moved and seconded that Mr. Hall purchase an extra large candy cane to be presented to Dr. Nash by Mr. Bond Tuesday evening, at the Xmas exercises. Carried. It was moved and seconded that Mr. Haeske interview Mr. Rocky and Mr. Whitcombe concerning the object of selecting a trustee for the Land Purchase made by the Student's Association. Carried. A report of the C. P. S. , Normal basket-ball game was accepted. A Messenger bill of six dollars and thirty cents ($6.30) was allowed for engraving. A joint committee of Mr. Carver and Mr. Anstett was appointed to advertise for the Whatcom-Normal game. On April 4 the faculty will give a program in assembly. A guarantee of sixty dollars ($60) was allowed for the St. Martin's Basket-ball game. A general discussion of a mixer for next quarter followed. Adjournment Bernice A. Day , Sec'y. 1921-02-15 - Board of Control Meeting. The meeting was called to order. The minutes of the last two meetings were read and approved. Mr. Bond and Miss Ingalls absent. ~~~~1921-02-01 - Board of Control Meeting. The meeting was called to order by the president. Miss Day was absent. The report of the Cheney- Normal B. B. game was o.k.'ed. Twenty-three dollars ($23) was turned over to the Registrar. It was moved, seconded and carried that Mr. Carver be allowed a sixty dollar guarantee for the C. P. S. game. The following bills were allowed for the Messenger. Union Printing Co. $3000.00 Seattle Engraving Co. for B. B. picture 4.74 There was a bill of sixty-five cents $.65 from the Normal Book Store which was to be checked over before being paid. It was o.k. Adjournment Bernice A. Day , Sec'y Page 01_101 (volume 01 page 101) 1921-02-15 - A report of the Normal-St. Martin's basket-ball game was accepted. Eight dollars and five cents ($8.05) was turned over to the registrar. The following bills were allowed: Referee for Normal-Fairhaven girls B. B. game to S. E. Carver $5.00 Boys B. B. pictures for the Klipsun A. Erickson 18.23 The Normal-Whatcom B. B. game is to be announced in assembly tomorrow and Friday. The admission for the Normal students is to be twenty five (.25) and thirty-five cents (.35). Adjournment 1921-02-21 - Board of Control Meeting. A special meeting of the board was called for Monday, Fed. 21. Two hundred sixty-three dollars and ninety-three cents ($262.93) was transferred from the athletic fund to the general fund of the students' association. It was moved, seconded and carried that one hundred sixty-five dollars ($165) be paid for expenses of the debate teams, from the general fund of the students' association. Moved that the president call for applicants for editorship of Messenger for third quarter next Wednesday. Seconded and carried. A motion was made that the Board of Control finance a movement for the establishment of the Bird Sanctuary to the extent of fifty dollars ($50) the plan to be in cooperation with the alkisiah club..
