- Mostly low buildings line the street: Holten's Beer Parlor, a cafe,a bank; a sign hanging from a several story building toward the end of town says "Trading Union" with a sign below it that says "Meat Market;"beyond this building is a building with a sign saying "Pacific American Fisheries, Inc;" beyond that is a residential house. A sign on the three story building in the foreground says "Coliseum" - it appears to be a movie theater with a hotel or apartments above. Five vehicles, two on one side, three on the other, are parked on the street. No people are visible.

- Two have 1918 on their top rims; on the others the dates are not legible. In the canning process, rows of cans on dolleys were rolled into these pressure cookers, also known as Retorts. Although not identified as such these are probably being used at a Pacific American Fisheries cannery.

- Just east of what used to be Galen Biery's house which still stands at that location. This predates Fairhaven Parkway so several houses in this photo are no longer extant. In the immediate foreground is a garden and a small clapboard bungalow. Laundry hangs on a clothesline. A 1930's automobile is parked in front of the house which fronts on Wilson. Two other houses sit east of it. The house and open lot from photo gb3589 are immediately north and South Hill is beyond.

- In the immediate foreground is a craftsman house that is extant at 1912 Mill. Harris and 21st Street intersect beyond it where there is a low building that may be the store that is still there. In the middle ground, 22nd Street is visible going up theh hill crossing what is now the Interurban Trail. Beyond Harris is probably Donovan that runs far to the east, crossing what is I-5 today. It is open field where the Parkway Chateau and Mt. Baker Nursing Home are today. Chuckanut Mountain and other hills are visible in the background.
