- Enclosed note: The first survey made of the town of Sehome, Washington Territory, Bellingham Bay - May 8th, A.D. 1858. Recorder John W. Lysle - Father of Hallie Lysle Campbell." Shows platted streets of Sehome from Vol. 1, Pg. 1 of Photq. records from the Kroll Map Co., Seattle. According to "Whatcom County in Maps 1832-1937," none of the street names on this 1858 map have survived. Front Street is Railroad Avenue, Main Street is State Street, Washington Street is Forest Street and jackson Street is Garden Street. The cross streets, then named for local and state people are now names of trees: Maple, Pine, Chestnut, Laurel, etc.

Her two volume "History of Whatcom County" was published in 1926.

- Whatcom tide flats showing original brick courthouse built by T.G. Richards on the beach in 1889 during the Fraser River Gold Rush. In 1906 when the tide flat streets were elevated, only one storyof the courthouse remained above ground at 1308 E Street. Also visible a clapboard hotel adjacent to the courthouse and several smaller buildings. The forest extends nearly to the shoreline.

- Slide with caption in ink: "Soapy Smith Story" and stamped: "Dedman's Photo Shop - Skagway, Alaska" and "Jul 68..." Ten photos on display relating to the infamous con man Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, known for his connection to organized crime in Colorado, the Northwest and Alaska. The name "Soapy" came from his soap bar swindles where he conned unsuspecting buyers into thinking they might win bug bucks that were supposedly wrapeed around the soap bars. He lived from 1860 until 1898 when he was shot dead in a gun fight in Skagway.

- Caption on front in ink: "John Bennett and his heather from Mt. Beaker 1868" Bennett stands by a small round table pointing at a pot of heather. Bennett came to Whatcom in 1858 from Glasgow, Scotland seeking gold and worked in the Sehome Coal Mine earning enough to purchase the Compton Claim beyond the Eldridge homestead. He was a horticulturist who started the first nursery in Whatcom which was the source of many Whatcom County plants.
