- According to "Looking Back," p. 100, this is the Grand Central Hotel that was located at Forest and Holly Streets. Built in 1890, in 1892 it became the first St. Luke's Hospital, and when the hospital moved, it became The Baker Hotel. The first two floors appear to be public with lodging rooms above. The Baker was demolished in 1926 to build a garage.

- Elmheim, the Victorian mansion built by Henry Roeder at Elm and Monroe Streets. It was finished in 1898; Elizabeth Roeder died in 1897 and Henry in 1902. - Although there was a Masonic Hall at 1210 11th St. in the Fairhaven district, this is the Masonic Temple (also known as Masonic Hall) at 1103 State (formerly Elk) Street. According to the 1934 Bellingham, WA, City Directory the building adjacent to it was the Bellingham Plumbing Supply at 1107 State. The sign on the adjacent building reads "Bellingham P..." in the photograph. The cars parked in front are 1920-1930's era.
