- Fairhaven, Washington, Pacific Coast Terminus of the Great Northern Railway, Looking East
- Date
- 1890-1900
- Description
- Caption printed on front: "Fairhaven, Washington, Pacific Coast Terminus of the Great Northern Railway, Looking East." Looking toward Fairhaven and South Hill from what is now the train station ferry terminal. In the immediate foreground a dock extends into the water with a small building at the end that says Fairhaven Land co. on its roof. To the right of the dock, at the water's edge, is an open area with what appear to be wooden pallates scattered about, as well as several carriages pulled by horses. A boat sits askew at the water's edge. There are several ships in the harbor beyond the dock. The railroad runs across the middle ground of the photo. There are many houses and churches on South Hill, but no trees. Taylor, Knox, Harris, Mckenzie Avenues are visible and possibly the Fairhaven Hotel (smudged) and the Mason Block, what is now Sycamore Square. Mt. Baker rises in the distance over South Hill.

- Columbia Valley Lumber Company warehouse
- Date
- 1880-1960
- Description
- Horizontal warehouse building with large sign on front: "Columbia Valley Lumber Company." Stacks of milled lumber are visible in the foreground at the front of the building and more can be seen inside the building. A smaller building is attached to the larger one on the right side. It is one story, has four white columns across the front and a door in the center. It is probably the office. One man in a suit stands in front of the warehouse and a workman stands to the side of the office building - perhaps a painter since there is a ladder propped against the office building. Columbia Valley Lumber Company was started in 1911 with five lumber yards, including one in Bellingham. By 1915 it had grown to 11 yards and eventually a subsidiary of Bloedel Donovan Lumber Corporation. It shipped lumber by water all over the world.

- Row of unidentified clapboard cottages (might be company housing)
- Date
- 1900-1910
- Description
- Four identical small white clapboard cottages in a row and a fifth that is partially visible but bigger with a pickett fence around it. The cottages all have one front window and door and a gabled roof with a small gabled porch below. They are set among ferns and evergreens with a few deciduous trees around the bigger house. A man and woman stand on the porch of one of the cottages; a man in a suit and hat stands on its steps. Four men sit in a Model T convertible stopped in the ferns and brush right below the cottages. The men in the Model T wear hats and workers' clothes. A tall pole stands between and in front of the bigger house and cottage where the couple stand. There is an illegible notice tacked to the pole. This is likely company housing of some kind.
