Title: Maasai Modesty - Tanzania

Description: Upon her realization, an hour into our homestay, that I had brought my camera along, she rushed us out of the hut made entirely of tree branches and goat dung to take pictures of everything she could. But as soon as the camera turned on her, her eyes cast downward, her way of showing modesty and dignity in her Maasai culture. Flies coated her scalp, and her brilliantly-colored clothing was dingy from wear and work, but her joyful spirit was contagious. I left that day with hundreds of photos taken by the true residents of the land.

I had the opportunity to travel with a group of international students, including the friends I made at my university (Universidad de Palermo), to this amazing place. Las Salinas Grandes is the perfect place to take pictures based on the illusion of perspective. It is also located 3,450 meters above sea level and do not be fooled by the short sleeves, it was 50 degrees outside!
