Quorum present. The following bills were voted upon and allowed: Woolworth $3.83 Royal Dairy Products Co. 17.25 Union Pr. and Stationary Co. 38.00 The Book Store report was handed in and accepted. Discussion of Christmas party for Dec. 20, was taken up. Board in favor of purchasing 10 cent presents by each one, for exchange, also that each club to take part in the program, choosing their own part. Moved that the president appoint a committee of three, he acting as chairman to superintend the Christmas program. The committee: Mr. Kobell Chr. Miss Hawley. Miss Hampson. Adjournment. Sec'y. Motion carried that Mr. Carver be given $40 for Vancouver game. This will be returned. Receipts from Ellensburg game $7.50 received at door. This will be turned into the Assoc. Page 01_051 (volume 01 page 051) 1918-01-17 - Pres. brot up matter of hooks of hooks disappearing from the Assembly Hall. Motion carried that it was a Student Council affair but that the Board will act as advise. Miss McGhee was chosen as the new Book Keeper. Baughman, Manager of the Normal Book Store, requested that he be granted the privilege of borrowing money from the Bellingham national Bank, in order to take advantage of discounts on goods. Moved that Mr. Hauson, on recommendation of Mrs. Mayhew be made Editor-in-Chief of the Messenger Carried. 2. Moved that the nominating of candidates for Editor-in-Chief of Messenger be given cover of Messenger. Carried. 3. Move we publish as Thanksgiving number of the Messenger. Carried. 4. Meeting called to order by the President. Minutes dispensed with. We discussed the proposal made by the Cheney Normal Students Association as to whether we have an intercollegiate debate- moved and seconded that Mr. Selby's salary be paid as itemized. Carried. Moved that we refer the distributing of the Messenger to the Student Body. Carried. Moved that President of the Student association put into effect the machinery of electing the student Council and the Vice President Page 01_073 (volume 01 page 073) 1919-10-16 - Minutes of Board Control Meeting Minutes read and approved. Roll call. Everybody present. Discussion of Debate- Moved and seconded that challenge be accepted and be left to Mr. Hoppe. Carried. Moved and seconded that Mr. Baughman be permitted to carry on his own Banking business in the usual banking methods downtown. Carried, moved and seconded that checks be written by Mr. Selby and passed by the Board of Control. Carried- Moved we adjourn- Seconded and carried. 1919-10-21 - Meeting called to order by President. Roll call. Mr. Marshall and his Miss Lee absent. Moved and seconded that Mr. Selby be permitted to place the contract of printing the messenger when he pleased. Carried. 4. Moved and seconded that school paper be put out on the 19 of this month. Moved that the following names for student representative be accepted and sent to the faculty. Moved following bills be allowed. Bookkeeper's salary. $10.00 Report of the Chuckanut trip was made by the chairman of the committee Miss Lee. Moved we adjourn. carried. Page 01_079 (volume 01 page 079) 1920-04-17 - Normal Bookstore (paper stamps) $1.25 Students association $65.00 Moved that the $1.50 student fee per quarter be apportioned in following way 70 cents for Athletics 35 cents socials and incidentals 45 cents for Messenger. Seconded and carried. Moved that this board suggests to the incoming board that the secretary of the student board be also the treasurer of all the students finances and she have as assistant a treasurer for the athletics and a treasurer of the Messenger. Seconded and carried. Moved we adjourn. Seconded and carried. 1920-04-27 - Meeting of the Board of Control Meeting called to order by the President. Minutes read and approved. Roll call - Mr. Kolstad absent. 1. Report of Whatcom Normal baseball game handed in by Mr. Carver. Read and approved Due Mr. Carver $2.40 2. Moved that Mr. Carver be guaranteed $65 for Bremerton game. Carried. 3. Following Messenger bills allowed. Manager's salary $50.00 Manager Klipson (cuts) 44.55 4. Moved that we recommend to the new board that they consider again our division of the student fee and raise the athletic fund to 75 cents per quarter and lower the Messenger allotment to 40 cents per quarter.
