Unidentified white clapboard house
-
Date
-
1940-1950
-
Description
-
House has a Dutch Colonial roofline and an adjacent observation cabin attached to it by two sets of stairs and and platform between them. Three men, two in uniform, stand below the platform that serves as a carport, and an automobile is parked there. A bicycle is propped against the steps leading into the house. A barn and another outbuilding can be seen through the trees beyond the house. In the foreground are tall grass and a metal fence. A rope hangs parallel to the observation cabin with an object (camera?) fastened to it part way up the rope. Perhaps this is headquarters of the Border Patrol?
