Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, at 1717 Mckenzie Ave, Bellingham, Washington
-
Date
-
1950-1955
-
Description
-
One large and four small pointed arched windows on the side and three on one side at the base of the steeple, two over the entrance. Small steeples and gables run around the bottom of the steeple. A sign on the side of the church reads "Our Saviour's Lutheran Church" with illegible writing below. This church was built in 1913. The parsonage is a craftsman bungalow adjacent to the church in the photo; today it is across 18th St. It was moved to its present location in 1961 when the present sanctuary was being built at 18th and McKenzie. It was dedicated at Easter 1962. The church in this photo must have been demolished for the new one. There appears to be an animal or small child sitting in the middle of the street by the side of the church. Stamped on reverse: "Jacobson's Studio 1415 1/2 Cornwall Ave. Bellingham, Wash."
