- Caption on reverse in pencil: "St. James Presbyterian Church" and in ink: 'Built 1917 - NE cor. 14th & Taylor" Dark wooden shingled church with five double windows along the west side with the entrance in the southwest corner. Built on land donated by Frances Larrabee who had bought it from Mrs. Cyrus Gates. In 1957 the present St. James was built across 14th Street on the southwest corner.

- Front caption: "Baptist Sunday School Picnic at Orcas Island. June 4, 1888. -- by Steamer Skagit Chief." Passengers line upper and lower decks of ferry next to damaged dock. The "Skagit Chief" did service on Puget Sound from the mid 1880s and after frequent groundings and crashes (1890, 1900, 1901), she was rebuilt and renamed the "Port Orchard." In 1907, she was again rebuilt and renamed "Tourist", used in the transport of Bremerton Shipyard workers. In 1938, her steam engines were removed and her hull was abandoned in Lake Union.

Wilson bought Dan Harris' Fairhaven property in the 1880's and, with C.X. Larrabe, they established the Fairhaven Land Co. in the 1890's.
