- Steamship "Windber" in calm waters
- Date

- Description
- The Windber was built in 1889 in West Hartlepool, England as the "Daventry." It was 2837 tons, 290' x 40.1' x 21.9' It was purchased in 1912 by Pacific American Fisheries for use as a cannery steamship and was the first steel vessel in its fleet. In 1917 it was assigned by the government to the Mason Navigation Co. for the Hawaiian sugar trade. It was returned to PAF in bad condition and sold for salvage in 1923. Part of its bottom rests in what is now Boulevard Park in Bellingham, WA.

In the upper left corner is a photo of a plump, bearded man, wearing a hat and long coat, light colored pants and a dark shirt. Presumably C.X. Larrabee. He established the ranch in the 1880's which was known for its Morgan quarter horses.
