Wilson bought Dan Harris' Fairhaven property in the 1880's and, with C.X. Larrabe, they established the Fairhaven Land Co. in the 1890's.

- Back caption: "Blanket Bill Jarman 1820 -1912 -- Photo courtesy Galen Biery." William Robert Jarman was born in England in 1820. He was the first white settler in Whatcom. Captured by the Nootkas while left ashore by his Australian trading ship, he was released after two years in trade for thirty-two blankets. He and his Indian wife, Alice, settled southeast of Lake Samish in 1848; this became known as Jarman's Prairie for which he received a homestead patent in 1876. Eventually he lived in Ferndale with his niece's family. He died at 92 in 1912.
