- Columbia Valley Lumber Company warehouse
- Date
- 1880-1960
- Description
- Horizontal warehouse building with large sign on front: "Columbia Valley Lumber Company." Stacks of milled lumber are visible in the foreground at the front of the building and more can be seen inside the building. A smaller building is attached to the larger one on the right side. It is one story, has four white columns across the front and a door in the center. It is probably the office. One man in a suit stands in front of the warehouse and a workman stands to the side of the office building - perhaps a painter since there is a ladder propped against the office building. Columbia Valley Lumber Company was started in 1911 with five lumber yards, including one in Bellingham. By 1915 it had grown to 11 yards and eventually a subsidiary of Bloedel Donovan Lumber Corporation. It shipped lumber by water all over the world.
