- Description
- At the base of the central structure is a feed or produce bag that reads "Wenatchee Chief." Display tables are labeled according to county, such as Yakima, Wenatchee, Walla Walla, Clark, Snohomish. Various plants and trees line the displays. This is probably the Alaska - Yukon - Pacific Exposition at Seattle World's Fair in 1909. See also GB2193-2195, GB2311.

- Back caption: "...Berthusen Homestead May 1909." Hans Berthusen was born in Norway in 1860 and settled in Whatcom County in 1883, eventually owning 263 acres west of Lynden where he first ran a dairy, then cultivated the land. He married Leda Hawley in 1889. At his death in 1944 his property was bequeathed to the city of Lynden and became Berthusen Park. See also GB2766.
