Gathering - possibly union event
-
Date
-
1940-1950
-
Description
-
Unidentified gathering of mostly older men and women seated and standing in rows along a long table set with cups and bowls with candles at each end and down the middle. The men wear suits and the women winter coats and hats. At the far end of the room is a low table with six men, four women and two children standing behind and next to it. A large banner reads "Buy American - Create Jobs for American Workers - Buy Union Label Products" A framed photograph of FDR hangs on the back wall. Several other posters line the walls but are illegible. This is probably a union event during World War II.
