- Lujan Flota
- Date
- 2018
- Description
- This picture was taken in Lujan, Argentina. This was the second year Lujan did the Lujan Flota event where there was music, good food and games for the whole family to enjoy. The main part of this event, however, was the many hot air balloons that people were able to see up close, some even letting people get aboard for a little bit! I am pictured here in front of a hot air balloon that has "Lujan" written on it, everything here is named after the Lady of Lujan (the patron saint of Argentina), including me!

- Musica Sin Fronteras
- Date
- 2019
- Description
- This picture was taken in Buenos Aires, Argentina, outside of Club de Musica. In it is me with my groupmates and professor of the course. While attending Universidad de Palermo I took an events planning course where we learned how to plan all types of different events and even got to put on our own at the end of the semester. My groupmates and I decided to put on a music festival in a small local bar called "Musica Sin Fronteras" and the money we raised by selling tickets was donated to "Voluntarios Sin Fronteras", an organization that provides local kids with sport and art related activities as well as school supplies where needed.

- City Bell, Argentina
- Date
- 2019
- Description
- This picture was taken in City Bell, Argentina. It is the town that my mother grew up in before moving to the United States at 16. Today we still have family living there and I am pictured with my great aunt Blanca, who I surprised when I showed up at her doorstep after not seeing her for five years. She could not believe I had come all that way to study and live so near to her (I'm an hour train ride away). It was hard to keep the secret since it took months of planning but it was worth it!

- Rosario, Argentina
- Date
- 2019
- Description
- It was taken from the top of the "Monumento de la Bandera" or "National Flag Memorial". The Argentine flag was first flown on the other side of the nearby river by its creator, Manuel Belgrano (on February 27, 1812) and this memorial was inaugurated on the anniversary of his death (June 20, 1957). I am pictured here with my grandpa's friend Susana while the Argentine flag flies in the background.

- Lanús, Argentina
- Date
- 2019
- Description
- This picture was taken in Lanús, Argentina. One of the biggest reasons I wanted to study abroad in Argentina was to see my relatives again and learn more about the country my mother's side of the family is from. My mother moved away when she was 16 but has managed to keep in touch with family in Argentina all these years. Here I am with my grandpa's cousin and her family enjoying a traditional Argentine asado, this is also the last picture taken of my great, great aunt Adela (pictured in the wheelchair) before she passed away. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to study abroad when I did.

- My Ah-Hah! Moment - Salinas Grandes, Argentina
- Date
- 2019
- Description
- This photo represents my Ah-Hah! Moment because it accurately shows my experience of jumping from my life in Bellingham to Argentinian culture. Fully jumping into a new culture has made me experience a transformation of myself like no other. I have gained a sense of independence, broadened my world view, and realized that I am capable of more than I thought before going abroad.

At the moment the flower is shown with its petals closed since it is the afternoon, but in the morning the petals open up.
