- Colorful Copenhagen, Denmark
- Date
- 2019-11-01
- Description
- This photo was taken during my Fall Break. Copenhagen was one of the most exciting and beautiful places I visited. My ISEP friend from Virginia and I had taken a canal tour, and when we got off, there were all these colorful buildings lining the water. It was freezing cold, but we had to keep stopping to take pictures of all of it.

- City Bell, Argentina
- Date
- 2019
- Description
- This picture was taken in City Bell, Argentina. It is the town that my mother grew up in before moving to the United States at 16. Today we still have family living there and I am pictured with my great aunt Blanca, who I surprised when I showed up at her doorstep after not seeing her for five years. She could not believe I had come all that way to study and live so near to her (I'm an hour train ride away). It was hard to keep the secret since it took months of planning but it was worth it!

- A Gnawa Lesson
- Date
- 2019-11-09
- Description
- This photo is of me learning to play a Gnawan song. Gnawa is an important musical tradition in Morocco, with Gnawan music being played at many of the important festivals and holidays in Morocco. This particular day was right before Aid-el Mawlid, the Muslim holiday celebrating the Prophet Mohammed's birth. I learned to play a certain rhythm and tried to sing the lyrics of the song, which were about Allah, and while I have a long way to go before I am a Gnawa musician, I had fun.
