Description: Gyeongbukgung Palace is centered in the heart of the city where visitors can take in the beautiful architecture and scenery of the palace grounds while also being dressed in traditional Korean style hanboks. Being able to walk around such a historic site in such beautiful clothes was such an incredible experience and truly felt like we were experiencing a moment in time of life in the Joseon dynasty.

Title: Hike along Seoul City Wall

Description: Inwangsan, a mountain area where you can hike alongside a portion of the 18.6 km long wall that was built to protect the city from invaders back in 1396. At the top, you can get a glimpse of the incredible views of the entire city and it's absolutely amazing. As hiking culture in Korea is very prominent, locals as well as tourists, can always appreciate the incredible landscape and scenery of such a historically and culturally rich city.

Title: Gamcheon Culture Village - Gamcheon Village, South Korea

Description: After taking a small bus through the steep and narrow streets, the views of Gamcheon village are incredible as there are so many small locally owned businesses everywhere. What I found most impactful was the views at night because by nightfall nearly all of the crowds disappear; I thought it was even more beautiful at night with small street lights dimly lighting the now sleepy town overlooking the water.

Title: Jimjil-bangin

Description: We visited a traditional Korean style sauna equipped with everything you could ever need. Often times people can stay in a Jimjilbang for as long as you want as it is seen as a relaxing stay away from the stress of daily life. We had traditional sweet rice drinks, wore matching pajama-style outfits, ate traditional Korean food, and experienced all of the different rooms available which ranged from an ice room to a room that was over 180 degrees Fahrenheit. I will say that after staying at the sauna, I have never felt so relaxed and my skin felt incredible.

Title: Gwanghwamun - South Korea

Description: This photo was taken on the first week of my one-year adventure in Seoul, South Korea. I wasn't sure what to expect of this huge mega city, but it just kept getting better. This photo is taken at the main gate of the palace called "Gyeongbok-gung" located nearby to Seoul's city hall. What astounded me about this palace is that from the inside, one can see the giant skyscrapers powering Korea's economy in the background. The mixture of contemporary and ancient architecture was truly astounding. The past of Korea's culture was contained in this small area of palace, while it's modern day culture was shown behind it. In this shot, I am capturing a bit of the former.
