- Las Setas - Seville, Spain
- Date
- 2014
- Description
- I captured this panoramic photo of the fantastic wooden sculpture Espacio Metropol Parasol during my final weeks abroad. The structures are known more affectionately by the locals as Las Setas which translates to 'the mushrooms.' I visited Seville twice and was awe-struck both times by these structures. My favorite part of this location is that when the mushrooms were being built, starting in 2005, the construction revealed ancient roman ruins from the first century underground. The 6 mushrooms now span 490x230 feet, but also below there is a museum where you can learn some of Seville's incredible history and see the ruins for yourself. Modern juxtaposed with the ancient.

- Description
- I took this photo through my umbrella looking up at Tokyo Skytree. I thought it was incredible how it faded into the clouds because of how tall Skytree is. Skytree is the tallest building in Japan.

- Ferhat Pasha Mosque - Republika Srpska, Bosnia & Herzegovina
- Date
- 2019
- Description
- This photo shows the painted dome of the mosque. This mosque was destroyed in the 1990s during the ethnic cleansing of Bosniak Muslims by Serbs in the wars of the 1990s. It was my cohorts first stop on our week-long excursion dedicated to learning about and honoring the more than 8,000 muslim victims killed in the Genocide. The mosque was rebuilt in 2001 and now signifies the resilience of Bosniak Muslims and their refusal to be erased.
