- This photo was taken in Plovdiv, one of the more popular towns in Bulgaria. I feel so lucky to have been in Plovdiv in 2019 because this year it is one of the two European Capital's of Culture. The Capital of Culture initiative highlights the role of culture in building identity and over 300 projects have been organized in Plovdiv. They include festivals, exhibitions, and theater productions. Plovdiv is especially proud of its artwork, and this lion was my absolute favorite!

- On a night hike for a field study class at La Selva, I ran into many red eyed tree frogs. These frogs are a national symbol for Costa Rica and difficult to spot on the wild. I was very lucky to see as many as I did, especially this mating pair. The photo was shot on my phone camera with a little teamwork to get the flashlight lighting perfect. Thanks to the frogs for being very patient with me and showing off their beautiful colors.

- After coming to Korea, I have discovered a newfound love of Korean barley tea and I find myself drinking it almost every day. Busan was no exception and as I walked along the seaside trail of Haeundae beach, I briefly set down my drink to take in the beautiful scenery. Everything around me was so stunning and I was glad to have my little bottle of barley tea along with me.

- Before I went to Greece I didn't know anything about the sheer amounts of cats that roam the streets. Everywhere we went, especially in cities, cats would be all around. Even up in monasteries and historic sites we visited, cats would be there. This cat, was right outside the old Greek theater at the Oracle of Apollo.
