Title: Lujan Flota

Description: This picture was taken in Lujan, Argentina. This was the second year Lujan did the Lujan Flota event where there was music, good food and games for the whole family to enjoy. The main part of this event, however, was the many hot air balloons that people were able to see up close, some even letting people get aboard for a little bit! I am pictured here in front of a hot air balloon that has "Lujan" written on it, everything here is named after the Lady of Lujan (the patron saint of Argentina), including me!

Title: Morning in Jemaa el-Fna: Morocco

Description: Jemaa el-Fna is known as the "busiest square in Africa," surrounded by a maze of souks, filled with snake charmers, merchants hawking wares, tourists, locals, motorcycles and movement. In the morning however, the still square was empty and this fruit vendor was setting up his stall as the morning call to prayer rung out of speakers all around the Red City of Marrakesh. A small moment of daily life isolated from the usual hustle and bustle of the city.

Title: Like Wind in My Sails

Description: This photo was taken after an exam aboard a 45 foot catamaran as I was studying marine biology in the caribbean. Our academics were based around the marine ecosystems that we encountered through out daily diving. It seems that it would be hard to study on a boat while sailing island to island, but as you are surrounded by the nature you are so passionate about, it becomes like second nature to want to know more and more. Not only did we learn about specific marine life and global ecosystems, we learned to sail and sustain ourselves on a sail boat for a month. This humbling experience is one that is hard to articulate, but know that I have a smile on my face the whole time I am writing this.

Description: This photo was taken in Guatapé, Colombia, about an hour and a half away from Medellín. Guatapé is home to an impressive tower. After a challenging 700-step climb, we were treated with one of the most breathtaking views any of us had ever seen. Colombia, I have learned, has no shortage of natural beauty.
