Second St. Joseph Hospital
Caption on reverse in pencil: "Pioneer" The second St. Joseph Hospital that was built in 1901 with 53 beds and subsequently expanded four times before the current hospital was opened in 1966. It was located on what is now State St. but the address originally was Forest. Beneath the statue below the hospital a sign says "250 State St." This photo is probably from the 1960's when it's expansion was complete. Compare to photo gb3127 of the early building on the same site.
